INTRO TO PRINTMAKING – Collagraphy

This is a very special course that allows students to create sculptural printing blocks from nearly anything! Collagraphy is a contemporary and experimental printmaking process in which prints are made from blocks composed of layers of materials including string, eggshells, and found objects. Collagraphy is a sculptural and additive printmaking process which fosters creative thinking and textural exploration. The techniques we will cover include experimental block making, hand printing, multi-layer printing with registration, and image creation. This course offers a new perspective on what constitutes a print and printing block and offers the precise techniques to create multiples of these unique images.

Level: Any, though a knowledge of relief printmaking is helpful
