Description: A course in beginning watercolor, centered around plein air painting on the streets of New Orleans. The Bywater is a lovely neighborhood with lots of color and great light. We will (weather permitting) spend every day painting outside, sketching from surrounding buildings in the area, and then detailing in layers of color. We will cover basic techniques in watercolor, experimental applications, masking, composition (rule of two thirds) and value. Still lifes will suffice in case of rain.
