MOSAICS FOR THE GARDEN

June 1 - 2, 2013 (2-DAY WEEKEND WORKSHOP)
This fun class will cover the basics and beyond for exterior and garden mosaic projects.
Class will cover design considerations, appropriate materials, surfaces and adhesives for exterior applications, mosaic setting techniques, grouting and sealing.
Instructor will discuss approaching exterior projects for durability and longevity and get students comfortable with working with outdoor materials. The solid technical information presented in class can be applied to future projects. This class is great for beginners as we will be covering tools, cutting techniques, mosaic design and tricks for setting ceramic tile mosaic. Class is also appropriate for the student who has already experimented with interior or craft mosaics and would like to expand their knowledge to include exterior, garden or permanent installations.
Students will create a 12" x 12" mosaic stepping stone to take home.
Returning students may bring their own substrate to mosaic for the garden within size parameters with approval from instructor.

Materials fee: Materials provided, however students may bring their own glass object to mosaic, with consent of instructor
