INTRODUCTION TO PMC 960
INSTRUCTOR: KATHARINE PREJEAN
9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2015 (ONE DAY WORKSHOP)
PMC 960 combines the best of fine silver and sterling silver metal clay! This class will focus solely on creating jewelry in silver metal clay by combining PMC3 & PMC Sterling.
PMC 960 clay is a new technique of enriching the sterling silver clay with PMC3. Mixing these two clays results in a stronger metal clay that can be fired on an open kiln shelf without carbon. 960 provides all the benefits of PMC3 and PMC Sterling, and creating it is quick and easy. Students will address how to correctly mix the two packages to create their own design of jewelry (pendants, rings, or earrings)
Come spend a day creating silver jewelry in this new version of silver metal clay!
Students should bring their favorite tools and work surface including the starter kit they received at the introductory class, as well as magnifying visor for close up work. (Most tools, work surfaces, etc will be available for purchase from the School Store.)
Level: Students must have taken introductory class or have prior experience in metal clay.
