DRAWING THE URBAN LANDSCAPE
NEW CLASS!
INSTRUCTOR: HARRIET BURBECK
SATURDAY 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
MAY 9, 2020
This is a one day workshop in which students will learn how to represent buildings (and other man made aspects of our landscape) on paper with pen and ink or pencil. We will start the class indoors discussing the principles of perspective and later we will move out of doors to find architecture in the neighborhood that inspires us. Students will spend the afternoon outdoors being guided through the creation of architectural drawings in the picturesque Bywater neighborhood. Students will leave the class with a strong understanding of how to draw the urban landscape from life. Note this class is held outside on the streets, so dress appropriately. We will meet at the studio and head out from there on foot. If inclement weather occurs, the following Saturday will be the rain date.
Level: Some basic drawing experience.
