DRAPERY: A modern approach to Still Life
Instructor: Z. Behl
Dates/Times: Dates and times of next class TBA - please call or send us an email if you're interested in taking this course.
Description: Fabric has always been a traditional focus in still life drawing. Here we will examine modern interpretations of cloth/drapery. This is an opportunity for fun exercises that will build basic drawing skills while introducing dialogue about composition, material, value, lighting, etc. Students will learn to light their own set-ups and are free to bring their own subject matter to class. Drawing Fabric can be very overwhelming, but it is also rewarding and an incredible tool to build an awareness of your strengths and interests as an artist. Exploring materials is encouraged and we will discuss a wide variety of techniques, sometimes using a projector for presentations.
