Oil painting, focusing on the still life. Students will learn the basic materials and techniques necessary to move on to advanced still lifes, portrait, figure, landscape, etc. Emphasis is on a simple strategy for approaching oil painting. Students will complete a painting each week. This class is also a continuing class for those who have completed a Beginning level course and wish to continue.

Level: Any. Basic knowledge of drawing is helpful, but not required.

Class price: Register before August 23: $250, register August 23 – September 5: $280

Register before October 4: $250, register October 4 – 17: $280

Register before November 22: $250, register November 22 - December 5: $280

Materials: $175 for beginner’s kit

Class size: Minimum 3, Maximum 8
