Metals I This class is designed to teach students the foundations of metalsmithing -- sawing, piercing, filing, and joining metals with simple cold connections (no soldering will be taught in this class). Discussions will include the addition of design elements, wear-ability, stamping to add interest, methods of adding movement, and basic stone setting using cold connections. Projects will be assigned for a basic bracelet and either earrings or a pendant so that students will take home wearable piece by the end of classes. If time allows, additional projects may be made available.

Metals II This class takes the techniques used in Basic Metalsmithing I and adds soldering. Students will learn to solder jump rings and the basics of constructing a bezel for a simple cabochon setting. Students should take home at least one piece of completed jewelry with additional pieces available if time allows.
